Fall

Fall Basics Under $50

When it comes to fall I am all about basics!
Fall is all about cozy layers, so you need good basics that you can mix and match and easily layer up. One of my favorite things to layer is a simple black cami and black leggings. These  Modbod leggings are nice and thick and not see through at all.  The cami is the perfect length to layer over leggings and cover your booty–this is a must when wearing leggings!! You can literally wear anything over this combo and be good to go. I paired them with a  cozy cardigan which is on sale buy one get one free right now. I’ve worn this cardi so much lately–it is amazing. To dress it up a little, I paired it with my fav OTK boots from last season and topped it off with my fav  black hat. I am a little hat obsessed in the fall–they just make a look that much better!

Fall Pattern Mixing: Plaid & Stripes

Happy Friday!
Pattern mixing is always so fun–especially in the fall! Plaid and stripes is one of my favorite combos. I wore this look during our trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We stopped at Starbucks (pumpkin spice latte please!) then headed to Cades Cove to drive the scenic loop. The views were unbelievable!! It was nice and chilly in the mountains so I layered up every chance I could get. This  plaid scarf is definitely a fall favorite and looks good layered over everything. My  striped tee is on sale right now for only $14!! This outfit will be on major repeat this fall.

Have you tried pattern mixing? What’s your favorite combo?

Edgy Fall Outfit

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve had the chance to test out the Luv.it app. It’s a new fashion app (launching soon) that allows you to discover new brands and shop them with a click of a button. They also offer cash back on every purchase AND when you inspire others shop your shared and luved looks. While using the app I have come across so many great brands and new styles that I’m dying to try. I found this Eleven Paris dress while surfing the app and had to have it. It’s technically navy and white–it’s so dark I honestly thought it was black until my husband pointed out that it looked navy in the sun. The stripes totally look black and white when paired with black leather accessories.

I paired the dress with my favorite faux leather jacket–it’s under $50 and sooo soft! I love how adding a leather jacket and booties edges up the look a little. These booties are only $36! I’ve worn them so much lately–such a great buy! Clearly I have been loving black and white! It’s one of my favorite combos, especially in the fall. I love that my Skinit split marble phone case matched my outfit so perfectly. I am sooo obsessed with the marble design–plus it’s super durable which I need in a phone case. (Use code LAURA20 at checkout and save 20%!!)

The Luv.it app will be launching in a few days so be sure to get on the wait list HERE. Don’t forget to follow me on the app @laurabeverlin.

Camo

Camo Vest Day To Night

Who else is camo obsessed this season?!?
This is easily one of my favorite fall trends and such an easy print to incorporate into your wardrobe. When I saw this YMI camo vest I knew I needed it in my closet–plus it’s only $33. Such a steal!! There are a lot of camouflage vests and jackets out this year but most of them are oversized–which doesn’t work for me at all. I’m very petite so oversized jackets just swallow me up–not cute! This one fits so perfectly and can easily be dressed up or down for lots of wear.

One of my favorite things about this utility vest is that it can be cinched in at the waist making it more form fitting. This gives it a more feminine shape making it perfect for date night, and you could even layer it over a dress. For the day time look I cinched it up a little and paired it with my fav jeans, long sleeve tee, and the cutest knit rain boots. These Butterfuy Twists Wellies are super comfy and perfect for fall. Plus they are the perfect color combo for camo! This Vest also has a removable hood which makes it a little more sleek and dressy. For the night look I layered it over an all back outfit and an edgy heel. I love how the camo pops over all black.
Have you tried the camo trend this season? How do you like to wear it– dressy or casual?

Burglar Costume

4 Easy Halloween Costume Ideas

Halloween is just around the corner!!

Whether you’re passing out candy, going to a party, or trick-or-treating with your kids, it’s always fun to get dressed up and have a good time. Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays and I’ve always loved dressing up. I used to plan my outfit months in advance and couldn’t wait to go trick-or-treating! My go-to costume was usually a hippie with shredded flares and a giant peace sign shirt–I’m pretty sure I wore it 3 years in a row! But as I’ve gotten older when I dress up for Halloween it’s always a last minute idea and I just accessorize outfits I already have. So this year I thought it would be fun to put together 4 cute and easy Halloween costumes to give you some fun outfit ideas using stuff you (might) already have in your closet. I hope you like these costume ideas!

Be sure to save these on  Pinterest for next year!

Fall Outfit: Olive & Plaid

Olive and plaid–one of my fav combos!
Here’s another look from our vacation to the mountains. I was sooo excited to pull out all of my sweaters and scarves. It was in the 60’s during the day and in the 40’s at night which was such a nice break from the Florida heat. I got this cardigan in olive and burgundy and I wore them both so much during our trip. The material is so soft and cozy and they seriously look great layered over anything–plus, they’re under $50. It does run big so size down–I’m wearing an XXS. This plaid scarf was so popular last year and was gone before I had a chance to buy it. When I saw it back in stock this year I grabbed it up. I’m so glad I did cause it already sold out at Nordstrom. But I found it available HERE and it’s under $50!! Definitely a must-have for fall!

Fall Trend: Shades Of Tan

Ten Take On Fall Part 3: Favorite Fall Trend(s)

Today is the final week of the Ten Take On Fall series and we’re talking fall trends. This year there are so many amazing trends to follow and incorporate into your wardrobe. For me, I always lean more towards classic over super trendy. I like to incorporate trends in small doses, usually shoes, or accessories. I don’t like to invest in a style that will likely be gone in a few months. So when I read The 12 Best Fall Trends from New York Fashion Week  I was instantly drawn to “Shades Of Tan”. While they considered it a “trend”, all of the pieces alone are classic and and will definitely carry season to season.

When I saw this chic 2 colored coat I knew I needed it in my life. I’ve never invested in a long coat, cause let’s be real, how often will I get to wear it in Florida? BUT, it does get “cold/chilly” a couple times a year, and we have been traveling out of state more, so I thought now was the perfect time to snag one. I love the color combo on this coat plus it’s just over $100 (+ 20% off-see below) so it doesn’t break the bank. It’s dressy, but could easily be paired with riding boots and jeans for a more casual look. I styled it with high-waisted black skinnies for a little contrast, and a cold-shoulder top–another fall trend I’ve been loving. These tan (faux) suede shoes are such a steal (under $60) and they will look great with everything. I’m a sucker for lace-up heels! My last shade of tan is this (faux) suede studded tassel bag. It is the perfect size and also comes with a shoulder strap and it’s under $50. This bag and shoe combo will be on major repeat the next couple of months.

I hope you guys enjoyed the Ten Take On Fall series and got lots of outfit inspiration and style tips from all of us. It has been so much fun!

Fall

Neutral Fall Outfit

Neutrals will always be a favorite of mine regardless of the season. Pair a neutral look with a bold lip and you’re ready to go! This mock neck sweater has quickly become a favorite and will be on major repeat the next few months. I wore it twice on our Gatlinburg vacation, I seriously could’ve worn it everyday and been happy. The material is so soft and cozy–it comes in 4 different colors and I’m pretty sure I’ll own them all. Did I mention that it’s under $40?! Such a steal!! I paired it with my favorite white jeans and OTK boots from last season. I found a similar pair of boots and since these are getting a little worn out (I lived in these last fall) these Pour la Victoire boots might be their replacements.

Stay tuned for a full recap of our Gatlinburg trip! It was such an amazing getaway and definitely got me in the mood for cozy fall outfits.

Fall Must-Have: Red Hunter Boots

Starting fall with a pop of red!
Ten Take On Fall Part 2: Fall Must-Have
When I think of fall the first thing that comes to mind is “red”! Over the weekend we took a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Hiking Laurel Falls was top on our list. I didn’t pack “hiking” shoes and knew whatever I wore would likely get wet. With it raining in Florida almost every day, I was already on the hunt for a pair of rain boots–this gave me the perfect excuse to finally get them. Hunter’s were top on my list. Luckily, I found a local shoe store that carried them, had my size, and the exact color (military red) I was looking for–clearly it was meant to be!

Red is such a classic color and can be worn year round. I am all about versatility and won’t buy something without knowing at least 3 different ways or places to wear it. The first thing that came to mind with these boots is obviously a cozy fall look–I wore them basically our entire Tennessee trip. I paired them with this ivory cable knit dolman sweater, floppy hat, and my favorite distressed jeans (on sale over 50% off). They add the perfect pop of color to any outfit! They’d be perfect for halloween (think Minnie Mouse), Christmas (wear them with boot socks on cold days), Valentine’s day, & 4th Of July just to name a few major holidays.
Stay tuned for Part 3 of the Ten Take On Fall series!

Beach

The Secret To Getting Mermaid Hair

As I’m sure you guys know, I am obsessed with all things beachy and LOVE that wind blown salty “mermaid hair” look. Ever since I was little, I’ve loved going to the beach and coming home with sandy tan skin and tousled beach hair. I remember the first time I saw a mermaid–it was in Weeki Wachee, FL. I was mesmerized–I truly thought if I spent enough time at the beach I would eventually turn into one. That coconut sunscreen and salty beach air smell is something I’ll never forget–and still my all time favorite scent.  Mermaid Perfume has managed to bottle my favorite beachy smell and I feel like they’ve bottled some of my best memories. I had seen these at  Anthropologie and had been dying to try–I am so glad I got my hands on them. I’m totally hooked!!

The trick to getting mermaid hair is natural uneven curls. This usually works best on slightly dirty hair–I like it best a day or two after washing. The Mermaid Hair  shampoo and  conditioner smell like a sweet mix coconuts and orange blossoms and leave my hair feeling hydrated, shiny, and so soft. It’s sulfate free and made in LA with natural botanical extracts and essential oils. I am all about putting natural products on my hair and body and don’t mind paying a little more knowing it’s good for me. Plus the scent lasts–which I love!!!
I’m always on the hunt for products that will give me the beachy texture I’ve always loved without weighing my hair down. Honestly, most products just leave your hair feeling sticky and heavy–been there, tried that–no thanks! The new  Mermaid Hair Sea Spray is everything I’ve been looking and helps give me that effortless tousled look–plus it enhances that beachy smell I love. I used the  T3 Twirl Convertible as a curling wand, picking up different size pieces and wrapping them around the barrel. You don’t want the curls to look too perfect so I just grabbed pieces and curled them all a little different. Be sure to leave at least an inch or two of hair at the bottom uncurled. I think this makes it look more beachy and mermaid like.
After I curled my hair, I ran my fingers through it to loosen up the curls and make it look more natural. You can tease it up a little too for a more wind-blown look. To finish it off, I sprayed the  Mermaid Hair Shine Spray all over, which makes my hair look sun-kissed and smoothes out any fly-aways. I’ve also been using the body oil right after I get out of the shower and love how it leaves my skin feeling silky smooth.
