I’m not ready for it to be over, so today I thought I’d share our home for the holidays. We recently redecorated our living room and we’re obsessed. The room was designed around the custom fireplace that my husband built, and we couldn’t be happier with it. Also, almost everything in this room is on sale right now! I have all of the room details at the end of the post.
I hope you all had the best holiday weekend. We hosted both of our families for Christmas dinner this year. It was so great having everyone together during the holidays. Now we’re ready to relax and enjoy being home before the busy new year begins.
Today I wanted to share one of my favorite shoe finds of the year. These Steve Madden Daisie Pointy-Toe Pumps from Nordstrom have quickly become my favorite heels. I now have them in three colors–blush suede, black suede, and the most recent addition, red patent leather. If you’re looking for a new pair of heels, these will not disappoint!
As you can see from the collage above, I wear them all the time. A classic pump can elevate any look and can be worn from season to season. These babies are only $89 at Nordstrom and come in 8 different colors. I swear they look designer!! These Daisie Pointy-Toe Pumps are definitely a closet staple!
If you’ve never been to NYC during Christmas, definitely add it to your bucket list. It’s everything I thought it would be plus more, and we’ve only been here a day! I’m obsessed!! The city is covered in lights and everything is so Christmasy. It’s definitely got me in the holiday spirit. When packing for this trip I planned lots of cozy “city chic” outfits. I wanted to look chic but still be comfortable for walking around the city all day.
These Isolá grey suede booties from Nordstrom are easily my most worn shoes, so of course I had to pack them. They are super comfy and look great with everything. I’ve prolly worn them 100x, not exaggerating. I’m usually between a 6.5-7 in shoes and took a 7 in these. I’d say they’re pretty true to size but they do stretch a little over time–so keep that in mind. If you’re looking for a great pair of booties–I highly recommend these. They come in 3 colors at Nordstrom, but this color is the perfect neutral. I pack them on every trip cause they seriously go with everything.
The detailing on this Topshop dress really stood out to me–anyone else obsessed with embroidery? I got this dress from Nordstrom the other day and couldn’t wait to wear it. Since it’s pretty chilly out, I layered it over a classic black turtleneck–this one is only $25. I paired it with my favorite black over the knee boots to keep my legs warm.
Topshop always has the cutest dresses–this one is only $60. This dress will be so cute to wear in the spring time too–I can’t wait to wear it again. I love great transition pieces that can be worn season to season.
When it comes to holiday style, you can’t go wrong with the classics. The hubby always goes for a timeless navy and white combo with a pop of color to match me. His classic white shirt is only $39 at Nordstrom. It’s the perfect slim fit shirt for any occasion–he wears it all the time! Navy pants with brown accessories is my favorite look on guys. Throw in a pop of red with a skinny tie and he’ll look like a million bucks.
It’s no surprise that red is always my go-to for a Christmas dress. The sleeves on this Bardot lace dress totally sold me–it comes in 4 colors at Nordstrom, but the bright red is my favorite. Ps. If you’re looking for a gift for your hubby, this Calibrate silk tie is under $50 and is a great closet staple for him.
When the holidays roll around I always gravitate towards reds. When I saw this plaid A-line mini skirt at Express I knew I needed it for Christmas. It’s definitely a classic!! Bonus–it’s on sale 40% off right now so don’t miss out!! This one is so perfect for Christmas and would be adorable to wear again for Valentines day. You guys know I am all about versatility! I paired it with a black long sleeve tee with the cutest lace-up detailing.
Skirts are always so fun to wear in the winter–I absolutely love them paired with over the knee boots. I’ve had these black over the knee boots for years, but Express has an identical pair that are on sale under $60 right now. If you’re looking to get a pair, now is the time.
Ps. If it’s super cold where you are you can wear tights under your skirt to keep your legs warm.
Last night we went to dinner in Park City and got the best burger and wings. When it comes to date night, we usually both wear jeans and dress them up a little. I love cuffed denim with heels–it’s the perfect casual chic combo. These high waisted 7 For All Mankind jeans have the perfect distressing and are a great boyfriend type of fit.
This trip has been so much fun and we are loving all the snow. We actually walked to dinner and enjoyed the cold snowy air. I’ll be honest–I was pretty cold by the time we got there. Next time I need more layers! Ha! Lesson learned!
We arrived in Park City, Utah over the weekend and it immediately started snowing. This city is soo gorgeous covered in snow. We are both obsessed with this chilly weather and have spent so much time outside enjoying the snow. When packing for this trip we brought lotsss of layers. I stopped by Nordstrom a few days before we left and picked up some good layering pieces for the hubs.
I found this cozy navy cardigan for him and this super soft cashmere scarf. Both are under $100 and would make great gift ideas for any of the guys on your list. I’ve already stolen his scarf a few times–it’s amazinggg and it’s on sale right now!
Nordstrom is definitely my go-to when shopping for the hubs and of course, myself. This red Burberry coat has been on my wish-list for years. I knew it would get tons of wear on this trip and is so perfect for the holidays. It’s definitely a splurge but it’s a classic piece that will last for years.
Between Christmas parties, family gatherings, holiday work parties, & New Years, there are lots of reasons to dress up this holiday season. I personally LOVE getting all dolled up and will find any excuse to wear a sparkly dress. When I saw this Topshop metallic plissé surplice dress at Nordstrom I couldn’t resist. It has the perfect amount of sparkle and can be worn so many ways. Plus, the flowy sleeves and swingy skirt totally sold me–it’s the perfect dancing dress!!
Topshop always has the BEST holiday dresses. I paired this one with statement earrings, neutral pumps, and a classic bag to keep it a little more simple. You could totally dress it up and wear sparkly heels and a statement necklace too. If it’s cold where you are, pair it with leggings and a classic peacoat. It would look super cute with over the knee boots and a leather jacket for an edgier look. You can also wear a lace bralette under to give a little more coverage up top. No matter how you wear this dress you will shine this holiday season!
As you guys can tell, I lOVE my pups! Today I wanted to share some fun gift ideas for all your furry friends and family. My dogs absolutely love Christmas and getting presents. Last week I ordered them some new Christmas toys from eBay, and I swear my dogs knew what was in this package as soon as it arrived. I couldn’t resist giving it to them early and spoiling them with their favorite Milk-Bone treats. Guess I’ll just have to order them some more presents for under the tree.
We just redid our living room and wanted to get them a new bed that matched the space. We found this FurHaven quilted pillow sofa dog bed on eBay for only $49–it’s enormous and my boys are obsessed with it. The pups also LOVE their new toys and have been carrying them around nonstop and won’t let them out of their sight. They definitely make a great gift, and I’m sure your pups will love them just as much.
