The Perfect Fall Transition Dress Under $50

With the fall season right around the corner, I’m looking for pieces that will transition well into the cooler months. During a recent trip to  Nordstrom, I found some great closet staples that are perfect to wear now and through the fall months. Before making a purchase, I always try to think of three different ways to wear the piece. This is a great way to keep everything in your closet wearable on more than one occasion. Heading into fall, I like to shop for good basics that can easily be layered with  sweaters,  jackets, and  scarves.

I just picked up this  Lush shift dress from Nordstrom the other day and I’m obsessed. The color is so perfect for fall–it comes in black and tan as well. I’m pretty sure I’ll own them all. This dress is super flattering and the hi-low hem makes it great for all heights. It’s the perfect piece to dress up or down and it will layer perfectly in fall. The material is nice and thick which is a must for a fall dress. I can’t wait to pair it with a  cozy cardigan or  moto jacket when it cools off.

During the fall months I live in hats! They are the perfect accessory to any outfit and are great for lazy hair days. This  Brixton wool fedora from Nordstrom is definitely a fall staple. It’s only $52 but looks much more expensive. I honestly thought it was Rag & Bone (which are around $200) when I first saw it.

 During the Nordstrom anniversary sale, I picked up these  Kristin Cavallari ‘Laurel’ peep toe booties. I bought them in gray last year and wore them almost everyday. They have definitely been my most worn shoes, so I knew I needed a new pair for fall. The tan color is the perfect neutral and looks great with everything.
